Clinical Criteria
History of CHF or moderate/severe left ventricular dysfunction.
Resting blood pressure > 140/90 mmHg on at least two occasions or current antihypertensive treatment.
Patient is 75 years of age or older.
Fasting glucose > 125 mg/dL or treatment with oral hypoglycemic agent and/or insulin.
Prior ischemic stroke, transient ischemic attack (TIA), or other thromboembolic event.
Prior myocardial infarction, peripheral artery disease, or aortic plaque.
Patient is between 65 and 74 years of age.
Patient is female.
