Welcome to our Basic Calculator, the intuitive and fast solution for all your fundamental arithmetic needs. Whether you're balancing your budget, tackling homework, or working on a DIY project, our tool is engineered to provide quick, accurate results. Our calculator is built to mimic a standard handheld device, allowing you to perform core functions with ease, either by clicking the on-screen buttons or using your keyboard.

Mastering Your Calculations

Our online calculator is more than just a simple tool; it’s a resource designed for accuracy and ease of use. It follows the standard order of operations (PEMDAS) to ensure that your calculations are always correct.

How to Use the Calculator: A Quick Guide

The interface is simple and straightforward. Just start typing or clicking the numbers and operators to begin your calculation. Here are a few key functions to help you get started:

  • C (Clear): Clears the entire calculation to start fresh.
  • CE (Clear Entry): Clears only the last entry, allowing you to correct a mistake without starting over.

Memory Functions: Our calculator includes a full suite of memory functions, just like a physical calculator. Use M+ to add the displayed value to memory, M- to subtract it, MR to recall the value stored in memory, and MC to clear it entirely.

Step-by-Step Tutorials for Common Tasks

To help you get the most out of our tool, we've created simple, step-by-step guides for some of the most common everyday calculations.

1. How to Calculate a Percentage

Use the percentage key to quickly find a percentage of a number or to calculate taxes and discounts.

Finding a percentage of a number: To find 20% of 25, simply enter 25 × 20 %. The calculator will show the answer 5.

Adding or subtracting a percentage: To add 6% tax to a purchase of $851, enter 851 + 6 %. The display will show 51.06 (which is 6% of 851). Then, press = to get the final total of 902.06.

2. Understanding Memory Functions

The memory functions are incredibly useful for running multiple calculations without losing your previous results.

Add multiple totals: Calculate your total grocery bill by adding the cost of different items. Enter the price of each item and press M+ after each one. When you're finished, press MR to see the final sum.

Keep a running total: To add a series of numbers, type in the number and then press M+ after each one. When you’re ready to see the sum, press MR.
