Wellness Tip: Regular mood tracking can help identify patterns and triggers. Notice which activities consistently boost your mood and make time for them.

How the Mood Journal Works

The Mood Journal is a personal wellness tool designed to help you track, understand, and reflect on your emotional state. By consistently logging your mood, energy levels, and daily activities, you can discover valuable patterns and insights into what influences your well-being. All your journal entries are stored privately in your browser.

Here’s how to use the Mood Journal:

  1. Log Your Mood: Click the "Log Mood" button. A dialog will appear where you can record how you're feeling at that moment.
  2. Rate Your Mood & Energy: Select a mood from 'Poor' to 'Amazing' and rate your energy level on a scale of 1 to 5.
  3. Add Activities: Tag your entry with any relevant activities you were doing, such as 'Work', 'Exercise', or 'Social'. This helps you see how different activities correlate with your mood.
  4. Add Notes: Optionally, write down any thoughts or reflections about why you feel a certain way. This context is invaluable for later review.
  5. Review Your Dashboard: The main dashboard provides at-a-glance statistics, including your average mood, energy, and current tracking streak. You can also see a breakdown of your most frequent activities and which ones tend to be associated with your best moods.

Tips for Mindful Journaling

1. Log Consistently, Even When You Don't Feel Like It

The real power of a mood journal comes from consistent data. Make it a habit to log your mood 2-3 times a day—perhaps morning, afternoon, and evening. Tracking your mood even on "boring" or "bad" days provides a more complete picture than only logging the highs.

2. Be Specific in Your Notes

Instead of just writing "felt stressed," try to be more specific: "Felt stressed because of the upcoming project deadline." This level of detail will help you identify specific triggers when you review your entries later.

3. Look for Patterns in the 'Activity Insights'

Pay close attention to the "Boost Your Mood" section. If you consistently see that 'Nature' or 'Hobbies' are linked to your highest mood ratings, it's a clear signal from your own data that you should prioritize making more time for those activities.
