Concrete Slab Volume Calculator Guide
Calculating Slab Volume
Slabs are the most common concrete pour. Whether it's a patio, driveway, or foundation, the math is the same.
The Formula
Volume = Length × Width × Thickness
Tip: Convert thickness (usually in inches) to feet before multiplying. (4 inches = 0.33 feet).

Uneven Ground
The ground is never perfectly flat.
- Safety Margin: If your ground varies by +/- 1 inch, calculate for the deeper depth to ensure you don't run short.
- Sub-base: A 4-inch slab usually needs 4 inches of compacted gravel underneath.
Thickened Edges
Monolithic slabs often have deeper edges.
- Calculation: Treat the edge as a separate "beam" calculation and add it to the main slab volume.
